Hello Buchanan Families.  

It has been another great week of learning and building community at Buchanan School.  Thank you for your continued support!  

Key Information

• You will receive a weekly communication from your child’s teacher, in which they will update you on key pieces of information from their individual classrooms.  
• School Breakfast Program: Monday to Thursday 8:25 AM - 8:45 AM There is no breakfast program on Fridays. Students will be greeted at 8:25 AM at the front school door (Centre Street entrance) and at 8:45 AM breakfast program students go outside, where there will be teacher supervision.   
• Student supervision begins at 8:45 AM  

Key Dates

• Our first School Council meeting will be held online on September 25, from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Here is the link to join  meet.google.com/yqv-tqpx-ukh All parents / guardians are encouraged to attend! We look forward to your participation. 
• Meet the teacher night will be Thursday, September 26, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. This will be a casual drop in format, not a parent-teacher interview. Come when you can and please bring your child/children with you. To our EES parents, your teachers will be in touch, as you will have 1-1 meetings with them during this time frame. 
• Our Welcome Back Breakfast will be on September 13 in the morning from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM.
• Our first fire drill will be on September 10
• Our school wide Terry Fox run will be on September 19
• Orange Shirt Day will be honoured on September 26
• There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, September 27  
• Our first FUN LUNCH will be on September 26. Orders must be placed by September, 21. Visit Healthy Hunger!

Community Information

Highland Church located at 4018 Centre B Street NW is hosting a community BBQ at our church this Sunday, September 8, from 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM. Anyone is welcome to join them for burgers, hotdogs, and various carnival games! I have attached the flyer for your interest.
