Hello Buchanan Families

Happy Friday! It has been another wonderful week at Buchanan School. Yesterday our students participated in our annual Terry Fox Run. The students showed excellent attention during the kick-off assembly and worked hard throughout the run.  

Key Information  

• Our school council has partnered with Congress Coffee for a school fundraiser. Last week your children were sent home with an order form. I have also attached it here: Buchanan Coffee Fundraiser.Thank you to those families who have already supported this effort. 
• Student supervision begins outside at 8:45 a.m.  
• School ends on Friday at 1:20 p.m. 

Key Dates  

• Our first School Council Meeting will be held online on September 25, from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Here is the link to join  meet.google.com/yqv-tqpx-ukh All parents / guardians are encouraged to attend! We look forward to your participation.  
• Meet the Teacher Night will be Thursday, September 26, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. This will be a casual drop in format, not a parent-teacher interview. Come when you can and please bring your child/children with you. To our EES parents, your teachers will be in touch, as you will have 1-1 meetings with them during this time frame. 
• Orange Shirt Day will be honoured on September 26 - Students are asked to wear orange if they can.  
• There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, September 27.  
• Our first Fun Lunch will be on September 26. Tomorrow is the last day to order. Visit Healthy Hunger.
• Picture Day is on October the 8. 
• School Council is hosting a school community dance. All students are invited to attend, but they must come with a guardian.
