Dear Buchanan Families  

September flew by. It was such a wonderful month! Our students and teachers have worked hard to grow beautiful and strong learning communities. I am so proud of all our Buchanan Bears. 

Please note that under direction from the school board all school-based events for the month of October are cancelled.  

I have already rescheduled most events and will continue to do so. It is my hope that these new dates will hold.

  • October 7. Picture Day- Will be rescheduled 
  • October 15. Grade 1 and 2 Field Trip to The Calgary Wilderness Institute - Rescheduled for November 4th, 2025 
  • October 16. Grade 3, 4, 5 & 6 Field Trip to The Calgary Wilderness Institute- Rescheduled for November 6th, 2025 
  • October 21- School Council Meeting 6:30 p.m. in the library- We will meet November 18th  
  • October 22. Texas Donut Fun Snack- Rescheduled for November 19th  
  • October 23. School Halloween Dance- School dance will be rescheduled 
  • October 24. Grade 6 – Vaccinations in Library- Not yet cancelled  
  • October 30. Fun Lunch (Subway)- Not yet cancelled 
  • October 31. Halloween (costumes permitted- no masks or weapons)- Not yet cancelled
