Dear Buchanan Families

It was great to have the students back on for this mini week. The weather is certainly getting colder. Please make sure that children are dressed for the weather. Please also remember that all students must have indoor and outdoor shoes.

School Conferences are fast approaching. This will be an opportunity to come into the school to meet with your student’s teacher(s) and connect about their learning progress. The conferences will take place Thursday, November 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday, November 29 from 9:00 am- 12:00 p.m.  The conference booking system will open for parents and guardians to book on November 21at 9:00 a.m. and will remain open until the 27 at 4:00 p.m. If you need help to book, please contact the office and we will help you.

Spirit of Generosity

I have heard from families in our school community, looking to share the spirit of generosity as we approach the winter holiday season. I also know that there are families in our school community who could greatly benefit from this support.

If you are interested in helping a family in need, we will be accepting grocery gift card donations (Superstore/ Walmart). These cards will go directly to Buchanan families, so they may purchase gifts or food for their families this holiday season. Feel free to drop them off at the school at a time that is convenient for you.

School Fundraising Opportunities

Purdy’s Holiday Chocolate Campaign: Throughout November we invite parents, guardians and friends to order their holiday treats to support Buchanan! https://fundraising.purdys.com/join.aspx/1971091-118523

Once you click the link, register your email, click join a campaign and start shopping.  If prompted for a customer number, we are 76343.  The last day to order will be November 30 and the classroom with the most orders will win a cupcake party! Orders will be made available to students and families on December 12.

Casino: December 4 and 5 - We will be looking to fill a large roster of volunteers, to support shifts at our casino fundraiser. These events bring 10s of thousands of dollars to our school. Please follow this link to volunteer. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094AA9A628A2FDCF8-52181013-buchanan#/

Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place at our learning commons from Dec 2 – Dec 6 (during school day), a quick reminder to send money with your kids so they can be able to purchase their preferred books.
