School Council

Thank you to the parents who joined us for our School Council meeting this week. It was exciting to share the many learning initiatives and environmental improvements we have underway.

Learning Environment Upgrades

You may have noticed that our worn and tired exterior doors have been repainted a brilliant blue. Many of our older students fondly remember the blue doors from their kindergarten days and are excited to see the color return.

Our Bear Den (gymnasium) is also getting a fresh look! Before the end of the school year, a mural will be painted on the stage. Local artist Billie Rae Busby has been working with us to incorporate the colors and theme of our Bear mosaic and school logo into the design. We’re all very excited! Students will even have the opportunity to vote between two mural designs.

Thanks to our generous School Council, our library will be receiving new furniture. It will be durable, comfortable, and flexible—perfect for cozy reading and learning. The furniture, selected with input from students, will reflect our school colors and will be installed before we return in the fall.

Swimming Volunteers

All classes will participate in swim lessons from June 9–12. We need parent volunteers with clearance to support each day of lessons. Please contact your child’s teacher if you are available—we truly can’t do it without you! 😊

Community Event: Volunteer Tea

We look forward to celebrating our wonderful volunteers at our Volunteer Tea on June 20 at 11:00 a.m. If you have volunteered with us this year, please save the date. Formal invitations will be sent out soon.

Kindergarten Graduation

Kindergarten families, please join us for our Kindergarten Graduation on June 25 at 11:00 a.m. Plan to stay and play—we’ll have treats on the playground afterwards!

Grade 6 Farewell

Grade 6 families, our Send-Off Ceremony will take place on June 26 from 10:30–11:30 a.m., followed by a small celebration with cake, juice, and coffee until 12:00 p.m.

  • June 16 – Clay for Kids Glass Art Workshops for Grades 4 & 5
  • June 20 – Volunteer Tea at 11:00 a.m.
  • June 20 – Kindergarten Field Trip to the Zoo
  • June 25 – Kindergarten Graduation at 11:00 a.m.
  • June 26 – Grade 6 Send-Off Ceremony & Celebration (10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.)
