Dear Buchanan Families
Thank you for another great week of growing and learning together.
This week artist Billie Rae Busby worked daily to complete a beautiful mural in our gym. Students were able to watch this incredible piece of art come to life. Next, our bears will vote on the title of the painting! We can’t wait to show it to you; the next time you visit us. Thank you to School Council for supporting this project. School Council
Thank you to those families who attended our final school council meeting of the year. We want to thank our amazing chair who has given so much time and energy to our school this year. The chair position is OPEN for next year. Please reach out if you are interested or have questions about the role.
Our treasurer has also finished her term, and we are thankful for her commitment. We are grateful that this role has already been filled.
I also want to thank those members of the council who have served for many years, and whose children are moving on to junior high. We will miss you!
Swimming - Starts Monday!!
Buchanan School is swimming Monday June 9 to Thursday, June 12. To help your child(ren) be prepared for their swim lessons they should bring the following every day:
- bathing suit,
- towel,
- plastic bag for wet items
In addition, should your child wear their swimsuit to school in the morning, please ensure to send a change of clothes to school.
If your child feels most comfortable in the water while wearing swim goggles, these are an option as well. Thank you for your cooperation and support in ensuring your child has the most successful week at the pool.
Student Drop-Off
A reminder that there is no teacher supervision outside until 8:45 a.m.
Student Individual Program Plans
Teachers will be in touch with families who have a student with an IPP. We will require signatures on these important documents before the 18th of June.
Volunteer Tea
We look forward to hosting our many volunteers for tea on June 20. If you have volunteered with us this year, please save the date. The tea will begin at 11:00 a.m. Invitations will be forth coming.
Kindergarten Graduation
Families of students in Kindergarten– our Kindergarten Graduation will take place on June 25 at 11:00 a.m. Plan to stay and play! We will have treats at the playground afterwards!
Grade 6 Farewell
Families of students in Grade 6 – our Send Off Ceremony will take place on June 26 from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Plan to stay until 12:00 p.m. There will be a small celebration afterwards, with cake, juice, & coffee for parents.
