Dear Buchanan Families
It was a cold week, but Buchanan students stayed cozy inside, learning together. Yesterday, we all enjoyed an entertaining performance by Calgary Opera. The students and staff were left smiling ear to ear! Ask you child about the very ‘Witty Squirrel.’ The deep freeze seems to be lifting as we head into the weekend. We hope everyone enjoys some much-needed time outdoors!
What is a School Development Plan?
A School Development Plan (SDP) is guide that helps our school improve and grow. It includes goals for the school based on data. It also includes a plan to track progress, and the actions the school will take to meet our goals.
Buchanan’s Goal: Student Achievement in Literacy will Improve.
This includes working with students to become stronger writers and working with teachers to ensure student identity and culture are part of the classroom.

School Council
Our next school council meeting will be on February 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Attending school council meetings is a great opportunity for you to stay informed about important decisions affecting your child's education and the school community. It allows you to share your ideas, voice concerns, and actively contribute to creating a better learning environment. Being involved also helps you to build a stronger connection with teachers, administrators, and other families. We hope to see you there!
