Hello Families,
As we approach the final school week of 2024, I couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff. Buchanan continues to be a supportive and exciting place for learning! This week, we enjoyed a festive lunch, generously provided by a donor, and participated in our second week of clubs. During club time, students engage in mixed-grade groups to explore activities that connect with their passions and interests, from embroidery to soccer, and much more!
Spirit Week

- Wednesday: Funky Socks Day – Show off your best funky, wacky socks! 🧦

- Friday: Cozy Day – Wear your comfiest, coziest clothes or PJs! 🛌
Alien Inline Skating Residency
Our students have been having a blast with inline skating this week, and we are thrilled to see how quickly they are developing their skills! The residency will continue next week. If possible, please have your child bring their own helmet and remember that socks are required for participation. Students without socks will not be allowed to skate.

School Development Plan
This year, our School Development Goal focuses on improving student achievement in literacy, with a strong emphasis on written communication skills. We are regularly assessing our students and are already seeing improvements across all grades. We are also working to incorporate more culturally relevant texts and teaching practices to help all students see themselves reflected in the curriculum.
Community News
Highland Church is hosting a Christmas Carnival on Sunday, December 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be a puppet show, carol singing, Christmas cookies, crafts, games, giveaways, and a Christmas market! All Buchanan families are welcome to join the fun.
