Gratitude 

·       Thank you to Ms. Michelle and the Buchanan School Council for a Fun Friday Snack.  

·       Thank you to Lifetouch for coming out and taking all the students pictures on Monday.  

Breakfast Club:  

·       The Breakfast club continues to run Monday-Friday mornings in the learning commons from 8:25am-8:45am. It is open to all students who would like to come. Breakfast club participants must enter and exit the school via the northeast office doors. Ms. Akhter will offer students a cold breakfast consisting of a protein, produce and grain item.

·       Picture forms should be at the school this week and we will send home once we get them. Student picture orders will be online via the lifetouch website https://my.lifetouch.ca/mylifetouch/#/

School Council / Parent Society 

·       Next School Council Meeting

o   Orders are due by noon on Sunday Oct.22 via www.healthyhunger.ca If you have question or need help with your account, please contact healthy hunger directly at 1-800-818-6260 or email them at support@healthyhunger.com 

·       Halloween Dance: Friday Oct. 27 5:00pm-8:00pm 

o   A school dance for all Buchanan students is being organized this year by the school council members. More information to come next week. So far only the DJ has been booked and the time set.  

·       Volunteering at Buchanan?  

o   In order to volunteer at Buchanan School, you need to have an updated police information clearance. The school council is willing to cover the cost of this service if you volunteer at the school. The Police clearance Record is valid for up to 5 years, if you already have one on file and valid, you do not need to reapply, please contact the office to clarify and for more information. Community News 

·       Highland Mennonite Brethren Church  

o   Free Friday afternoon after school program  

o   The church runs a program called Jumpstart, which is free for interested Buchanan students from 2pm-4pm. Check out the attached poster and registration form if you are interested in enrolling your student. Enrollment is limited so act quickly by emailing Jennah Park.
