Thank you to Ms. Michelle from school council for running the Fun Friday Snack and bringing in all those delicious donuts.
Thank you to all the students and staff who took time to celebrate Metis Week.
Parent Teacher Conferences: Thursday & Friday
Parent Teacher Conferences will be taking place in person at the school on Thursday Nov.23 from 5pm-8pm and on Friday Nov. 24 from 9am-12pm.

Winter Concert: Thursday Dec. 7, 1pm & 6pm
We will be hosting the winter concert on Thursday Dec. 7. There will be two performances, an afternoon concert at 1:00pm and an evening concert at 6:00pm.
The title of this year’s performance is “The Adventures of Bear and Chickadee”. Its a musical journey that the Buchanan Bear and Chickadee take around the world learning about how different cultures acknowledge and celebrate the season. Students from kindergarten to grade 6 in both regular and EES programs will be sharing songs they have studied and learned.
The Giving Tree Campaign 2023
Buchanan School has a number of students that are in need of some fun holiday gifts like stuffies, soccer balls, fidgets, and board games.
The Giving Tree Campaign is an attempt to connect those who can donate a new gift to a child in need.
If you would like to participate as a donor in the Giving Tree Campaign, please visit the following weblink.
It will take you to the sign up genius where you can view all the gift items that are requested. You can then sign up to purchase one or more of those items. Once you have purchased the new clothing you can drop it off at the school’s office before Dec. 8, 2023. The school will then get the clothing item you purchased into the hands of the family/student in time for the winter break.

Buchanan School is offering all students and families the opportunity to purchase Buchanan Bear Wear, T-Shirts or Hoodies. The prices are listed above. A clothing order will be submitted at the end of November. Which means that it will arrive at the school in the middle of December before we head out on Winter Break.

Payment for the order can be made through my CBE power school account or in person at school. The item will be in the shopping cart; please select to add the item if you would like to purchase or call the office; Ms. Hoang will add it to the account for you.
The school council is running a bottle drive on Saturday Dec. 2. Drivers and supervisors are required to help take the students around the neighborhood canvasing for bottles and cans. Please use the link to the sign up genius to volunteer for the various roles. Bake Sale: Dec. 7
THe school council will be hosting another bake sale. Please see the flyer that went home this week for details on how to participate.
Volunteering at Buchanan?
In order to volunteer at Buchanan School, you need to have an updated police information clearance. The school council is willing to cover the cost of this service if you volunteer at the school. The Police clearance Record is valid for up to 5 years, if you already have one on file and valid, you do not need to reapply, please contact the office to clarify and for more information.
