Here is your weekly update.
Monday, April 8 - a partial solar eclipse will be visible in Calgary. The solar event will begin just before noon and conclude by 2:00 p.m., with the maximum coverage occurring at 12:43 p.m. There can be serious damage to vision due to viewing the eclipse in an unsafe manner. Students will stay indoors during class time, over recess and lunch breaks, and away from windows to the outside between the hours of 11:50 a.m. – 1:50 p.m. For more details, please look at the message on our school website.
Friday, April 12 - Fun Snack - Ice Cream - order forms were sent home with students on Friday.
We are planning for our next school year (2024-25). For us to plan effectively, we need to know if your child will NOT be attending Buchanan School next year. This does not apply to our grade 6 students. Please call or email the school to let us know if your child will NOT be coming to Buchanan School for September 2024. It will also help to let us know where they will be attending next year. Thank you.
Buchanan School will be offering an opportunity for all of our students to participate in an eye exam free of charge through Nation's Vision. They will be at the school the last week of May (May 27- 31). Nation's Vision has a master agreement with CBE to provide this service to schools. This is not only a screening process but a qualified Optometrist will conduct the exam. Next week we will be sending home a permission form if you would like your child to participate. This is not a mandatory program so a completed permission form must be returned to your child’s teacher for your child to participate.
We hope you have a nice weekend. To the families that celebrate "Eid Mubarak".
