Dear Buchanan Families
It was another busy week of learning for the Buchanan Bears.
Here are this week's reminders! I have added as much information about key dates as possible, to allow families to plan!
Bottle Drive
Thank you to those families and students who have already brought in their bottles. A reminder that bottles can be dropped off at the school today (Friday, April 11, from 1-4 p.m.) and tomorrow, Saturday, April 12 from 10 am- 1 pm.
School Council
Thank you to those families who joined us on Wednesday for our School Council meeting. Your participation is incredible valuable to our school community. If you weren’t able to attend, our next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.
2025-2026 School Year
- The bell times for Buchanan School will remain the same. School will take place from 9:00 am- 3:30 pm, Monday- Thursday and from 9:00 am-1:20 pm on Friday, for students in grade 1- grade 6. The school day for kindergarten students is from 9:00 am – 11:40 am Monday – Friday.
- We are now working on next year planning and resource allocation. If your child will not be returning to Buchanan School next year, please email rcphillips@cbe.ab.ca to let us know.

May 29 – Spring Concert (Grade 4, 5, 6 and EES) 6:00 p.m.
June 10-12- School Wide Swimming Lessons – Thorncliffe Pool
June 20 - Volunteer Tea at 11:00 a.m.
June 20 - Kindergarten Field Trip – to the Zoo
June 25 - Kindergartarten Graduation (more details to come)
June 26 - Grade 6 “Send- Off” Ceremony and Celebration (more details to come)
