General Health Measures

In all matters of health, CBE takes direction from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Find out how you can reduce the spread and lessen the impact of illness in school communities.

Routine Immunizations

The CBE supports the AHS school-based immunization program.

If Your Child is Sick

If your child is unable to attend school due to illness, please call the office at 403-777-6260 ext. 1.

For more information, please see our Attendance Page.

Medical Forms

It is important that we be made aware of medical issues and the procedures to follow in case of an emergency situation. This information should be updated at the beginning of the school year and at any time throughout the year, should there be changes to the condition or procedures. It is important to provide this information to the school office and discuss it with the child’s teacher at conferences or simply by booking an appointment with the teacher.

Some children take medication during the school day. To protect the safety of all of our students and to ensure the security of the medications, all medications must be stored at the school office with instructions for administration. An authorization form for the administration of medication must be completed and signed by the physician and the principal before medication will be administered at school. To obtain a medical form, please go to our Forms You Need page.

Lice

There may be times during the school year when we have cases of head lice.

If your child has head lice, please contact the school and let us know. If your child has been exposed to lice at school we will notify you.

As a precaution, we ask all parents to check their child’s head frequently for a few weeks after any exposure. You can find more information on lice from myhealth.alberta.ca.
